Dye & Dispersions for INKJET Applications

ORIENT has developed, and continues to develop, varieties of colorants used in imaging materials. We have already developed the technology to manufacture high purity colorants which are used as ink for writing instruments. ORIENT has fine-tuned this technology by developing colorants of ultra high quality used for Inkjet printing. These colorants can be classified as water soluble and solvent soluble.


SOLVENT SOLUBLE COLORANTS

ORIENT solvent soluble dyes show a brilliant color and excellent lightfastness with a high solubility in various organic solvents. The established know-how and technology of solubilization of dye-stuff based on azo and azine dyes have created many kinds of dyes which can be used for many industries.

WATER SOLUBLE COLORANTS

These highly-selected acid and direct dyes have been developed through a long period of R&D work and a unique evaluation method. These purified dyes do not contain any additives and show their natural colors.

PIGMENT DISPERSIONS

It is very important for pigments to keep good, stable dispersion in water-based inks. ORIENT has developed two types of Carbon Black Dispersions.

Dyes Suitable for Aromatic Solvents

OIL BLACK 860 / C.I. Solvent Black 3

This highly-purified dye shows a good solubility in various solvents. This advantage to this dye is that it is Ames Negative.

WATER BLACK 100-L: Liquid form (conc. 20%)
C.I. Direct Black 19
This is an aqueous liquid form containing 20% dye with excellent water fastness.

WATER BLACK 100-L: Liquid form (conc. 15%)
C.I. Direct Black 19
This is an aqueous liquid form containing 15% dye. A characteristic of this dye is that it contains less yellow component than compared with WATER BLACK 100-L.

This dye has readable NIR absorption.

BONJET BLACK 850-L: Liquid form (conc.10%)
Liquid form contains 10% dye. This is a very purified acid black 2.

By a chemical oxidation process, carbon black becomes freely dispersible in water without any dispersing agents.
